Welcome to Trezor Suite — your companion for secure crypto

Trezor Suite is the official desktop and web companion app for your Trezor hardware wallet. It provides a clear interface to manage accounts, send and receive funds, update firmware, and check transaction history — all while ensuring private keys never leave your device.

Zero-knowledge on-device signing
Cross-platform: macOS · Windows · Linux
Supports hundreds of coins & tokens

This guide explains the steps to install Suite, connect a Trezor device, add accounts, sign transactions securely, and adopt best security practices. It also covers advanced topics like passphrases, Shamir backups, multi-signature, and recovery scenarios.

Download Official Suite

Always download Trezor Suite from the official Trezor website or the project's signed GitHub release. Verify checksums when available — this prevents tampered downloads.

Install & Launch

Install the app for your OS. On first launch, Suite will present the onboarding flow. Choose "Create new" for a new device or "Recover device" if restoring from a seed.

Connect Your Device

Use the official cable and connect the Trezor hardware to your computer. Approve the connection when prompted — the device must be unlocked locally to interact with Suite.

Create PIN & Seed

Set a device PIN; record the recovery seed offline exactly as shown by the device. Never photograph, email, or type the seed into a website.

Add Accounts

Within Suite you can add accounts for multiple blockchains. Suite fetches balances and transactions; nothing is sent from your device except the signatures you authorize.

Send & Sign

Prepare a transaction in Suite, then verify details on the hardware's screen. Approve only when the destination address, amount, and fee are correct.

Install Suite & connect your device

Begin by downloading the official installer from trezor.io or the project's verified GitHub releases. The installer is signed; where supported, verify the digital signature or checksum to ensure authenticity. After installing, launch Suite and follow the on-screen prompts. When asked, connect your device using the supplied cable. Suite will prompt you to allow the host connection — confirm on your device.

Onboarding choices

During onboarding you will choose to either initialize a new device or recover an existing wallet using your recovery seed. If initializing new, the device will create a seed and display it on its screen. Write those words down in the exact order and store them offline. If recovering, carefully enter the seed only on the device when instructed; do not input it into your computer.

USB permissions & browsers

If using the web version of Suite, modern browsers will require permission to access USB devices. Grant this only when you started the connection. Browser prompts are ephemeral — they do not create accounts or persist your seed.

Features & daily workflow

Portfolio

View real-time balances across all accounts and assets. Suite aggregates holdings into a clear portfolio view with historical charts and performance metrics.

Send & Receive

Create receive addresses and prepare transactions for sending. Verify details directly on your device before approval to ensure the integrity of every transfer.

Exchange & Swap

Convenient in-app swaps are offered through integrated partners. Always review third-party fees and verify addresses on-device.

Staking & Rewards

Some assets support staking directly or via delegated services. Suite surfaces supported staking options and reward tracking where available.

Security: what matters most

The core security model of Trezor Suite is that private keys never leave the hardware device. Suite is a companion that prepares transactions and relays them to the network; signatures occur on-device after you verify details. Preserve the security of your recovery seed at all costs — it is the single most important artifact for your funds. Consider a metal backup for long-term durability and geographic separation for redundancy.

If you lose both device and recovery seed, funds are irretrievable. If you suspect compromise, stop using the device, move funds using a new seed, and consult official support documentation for recovery steps.

FAQ & troubleshooting

Can I use Suite without a Trezor?

Suite is fully functional as an interface but requires a Trezor device to sign transactions and access private keys. Wallet view-only functionality may be available for inspections.

What if Suite doesn't detect my device?

Check the cable, try different USB ports, ensure firmware is compatible, and allow USB permissions in your OS or browser. Rebooting Suite often resolves device recognition issues.

Where can I learn more?

Official documentation, community forums, and verified support channels are the best places for deep dives, advanced guides, and recovery procedures. Always prefer official sources.
